Did You Know Sunny Leone Stole Her Brother's Name?
In the Dilip Mehta directed documentary-Mostly Sunny, Bollywood sensation Sunny Leone bares her heart out and some secrets that the world doesn't know about her
There would hardly be any person across the globe who wouldn't know of Sunny Leone. However, not much about her personal life is known to the common man. In the documentary, Mostly Sunny directed by Dilip Mehta, which premiered in India at the Jio MAMI Film Festival last evening, Sunny Leone revealed some startling facts that not many of us would be privy to.
The most interesting from them is the story behind her on-screen name.
While many people do know that the former porn star's real name is Karenjit Kaur Vohra, no one knows from where she got her screen name, Sunny Leone.
In the documentary when asked, how did the transformation from Karenjit Kaur Vohra to Sunny Leone happen, Sunny was quick to reveal, "When I went for the shoot first day, I didn't know whether I should take my real name or not. When I was asked I just spontaneously said Sunny. (Laughs) Sunny is my brother’s name. I don't know why I took his name. When I went back home and told him, he was equally startled and said 'but that's my name'. The name stuck on with me, and I think that's panned out pretty well for me,"
While Sunny is her brother’s name, her last name 'Leone' has been picked by Penthouse head Bob Guccione.
Not just this, a lot of more unknown details about her life has been well covered by director Dilip Mehta in the documentary. The broadcast rights have already been bought by Netflix and iTunes and await a worldwide release on the web pretty soon.
